The Effect of Estrogen

Estrogen is another investigational prevention. Although research has shown that estrogen is not an effective Alzheimer's treatment, epidemiological studies suggest that women taking estrogen to relieve symptoms of menopause may have a reduced risk of developing Alzheimer’s. The Women's Health Initiative Memory Study (WHIMS) and several other clinical trials have been designed specifically to test whether estrogen may help delay or prevent Alzheimer’s.
