The Alzheimer's Association, Houston & Southeast Texas Chapter presents "Loving Approach to Dementia Care," A?????? featuring author Laura Wayman.
Laura Wayman is an accomplished keynote speaker, author, trainer and a dedicated Gerontologist. In addition to offering valuable lessons about how to provide the best possible care, Wayman will give practical tips to help caregivers balance their needs with the needs of their loved one, creating a more positive experience for both.
This lunchtime caregiver seminar will provide attendees with a chance to learn the importance of self-care, how to overcome caregiving obstacles and how to cultivate more meaningful relationships with loved ones who have dementia or memory loss. Attendees will receive a copy of Laura Wayman's book, A Loving Approach to Dementia Care. Prior to the author's talk, there will be a lunch and an open house for Open Arms Respite Group, a twice-monthly, free activity group for persons with mild to moderate memory loss living in the Bryan/College Station area.
