Great strides in research have helped grow our understanding of how Alzheimer's disease works and inspired scientists to explore new potential treatments.
"Understanding Alzheimer's Research" explains the role of plaques and tangles in the brain and the progression of the disease. This presentation will follow the development of Alzheimer's research from Dr. Alzheimer's first notations in the early 1900s to our present day world-wide effort to eradicate the disease.
At the end of the presentation, attendees will understand the importance of TrialMatch and how to distinguish between accurate and "bogus" research information publicly available.
This program is offered in partnership with the Houston-Galveston Area Council.
RSVP: There is no cost to attend, but pre-registration is requested.
