Reconnect: Communicating and interacting with persons with dementia

Alzheimer???s disease dramatically alters the dynamics between the diagnosed individual and his or her loved ones. Family and friends of persons with Alzheimer???s frequently feel that their loved one is no longer the person he or she once was. This presentation provides caregivers with tools for effectively communicating and connecting with persons with dementia. Specifically it will cover nonverbal vs. verbal communication, positive physical approach, person-centered approach, and activity development. Special thanks to Oasis for providing lunch, rsvp required by October 2nd.
