Professional CEU Lunch & Learn: Understanding the Dementia Experience

In order to engage in quality interactions with individuals who have dementia, it is important for healthcare professionals and caregivers to understand how abilities change as a result of dementia symptoms. In this presentation, participants will identify the impact the symptoms of dementia have on a patient?????s abilities through empathy and sensitivity training. Participants will also develop techniques to communicate with patients and will demonstrate responsibility in providing person-centered care to avoid stereotyping and discrimination.
