The Alzheimer's Association of Houston & Southeast Texas will host an informational lunch for individuals who have early-stage Alzheimer's disease and their families at 11:30 a.m. on May 8 at the Alzheimer's Association regional office, 700 North Street, Beaumont, TX 77701.
An Alzheimer's disease or related dementia diagnosis changes the lives of those affected. This informational session will discuss what the diagnosis means for the family, how to plan for the future and the available local programs and services.
In the United States, an estimated 5.4 million people are living with Alzheimer's, including more than 340,000 Texans. One in eight people age 65 and older has Alzheimer's disease. The Alzheimer's Association Houston & Southeast Texas Chapter consists of families, caregivers, scientists, health professionals, and concerned citizens who are committed to finding a cure for Alzheimer's disease and to easing the burden of Alzheimer's disease and related disorders on patients, their families and loved ones.
Lunch will be provided by Odyssey Hospice.
