This two-part series will address two major issues in Alzheimer's care: Safety and Caregiver Stress.
The Safety presentation will address the importance of creating a safe home and environment for persons with dementia. The presenter will offer tips on how to keep individuals safe from wandering, driving issues and the importance of disaster preparedness.
The Managing Caregiver Stress presentation shows attendees how to identify stress and stress triggers and offers stress management techniques. Attendees will understand the role emotions play in self-care and different community resources available to caregivers. The presentation also includes a video from a caregiver portraying a different perspective on caregiving as well as the importance of managing stress.
