This program is offered in partnership with the Houston-Galveston Area Council and Huntsville Memorial Hospital. Every day new advances are made in the battle with Alzheimer's disease. Strides in research have helped reshape our understanding of how the disease works ad potential treatments. This presentation explains the role of plaques and tangles and how they affect the brain. It provides an overview of where our understanding of Alzheimer's disease was in 1901 and where it is today, including major research projects going on across the world. At the end of the presentation attendees will understand the importance of TrialMatch and how to distinguish between accurate and "bogus" research information publicly available.
