The Alzheimer’s Association Houston and Southeast Texas Chapter strives
to provide current resources and materials specifically targeting the
specialized needs of our service areas. Our Chapter Lending Library serves
as a distribution center for comprehensive educational materials, including books,
videos, journals, audiotapes and newsletters and other pertinent materials.
This service is available to diagnosed individuals, their families, caregivers,
professionals, and the general community at no cost and is easily accessible
through the Chapter office. Our diverse group of resources addresses the
following focus areas:
-
Clinical aspects of Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias
-
Current research trends relative to Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias
-
Caregiving strategies and techniques
-
Communication and behavior management
-
Activities for diagnosed persons
-
Helping individuals, family, and children understand and cope with diagnosis
Access to the Lending Library requires the completion of a simple application process
and requires compliance to the Chapter Lending Library’s guidelines. A credit card
number must be on file to check out materials.
